Choosing a Childbirth Class

Open to Interventions or No?

Natural Childbirth: You may be interested in our Natural Childbirth series, Extended Lamaze series, or 1-Day Lamaze class. These classes emphasize breathing and relaxation techniques that help prepare you for a natural birth in a hospital setting. They will also briefly cover interventions and what to expect if intervention is necessary.
Open to Interventions: Check our our Childbirth Express class, or our even more condensed Quick Prep Childbirth class. These classes will go into more depth about interventions such as pitocin, epidurals, and other interventions associated with birth. Breathing and relaxation techniques will be covered, but less in-depth than the natural childbirth classes listed above. These classes are appropriate for those planning a vaginal birth with or without an epidural.

What Works for Your Schedule?

Evenings, over 4 weeks: Our Natural Childbirth classes and Extended Lamaze series are classes that take place over the course of 4 weeks.
Weekends: Childbirth Express, 1-Day Lamaze, and the Quick Prep Childbirth class are all 1-Day classes taught on a Saturday or Sunday.

Nested’s Childbirth Education Boot Camp is an all-day comprehensive class that will prepare you for your journey through labor, delivery, and the postpartum period!

This is an extended version of our Childbirth Education Class and includes much more! See the course outline below and let us know if you have any questions.

  • Review common third trimester issues and what to expect at your 36 week visit
  • Learn the signs of labor and when to call your obstetrician
  • See what the hospital process will look like and what to expect from your healthcare team
  • Discuss options for pain management and potential interventions during the labor process
  • Let our teachers walk you through the “typical” childbirth scenario but also prepare for the unexpected, including inductions, assisted vaginal births and c-sections.

This boot camp includes hands-on massage techniques for partners to help during the pregnancy and delivery. Breathing techniques, taught by experienced doulas, will help with making the birthing process easier.

At Nested we know the importance of optimizing the physical and mental health of both parents during pregnancy and the postpartum period. With coping strategies, empowerment, education on diet and exercise and community resources, parents will leave feeling prepared for the doctor’s office, the delivery room and the trip back home.

Receive a personalized certificate of completion and a special gift for your baby at the end of class!
