We offer a wide range of free and low-cost classes for expectant, new and experienced mothers of newborns to toddlers. Our classes are taught by our IBCLCs or instructors that are highly qualified in their respective fields. Please register through our calendar!

Babies are always welcome to come to class! Our free classes can be crowded due to our no turn away policy; please register in advance. Due to our limited space, we ask that you leave strollers and/or carseats at home and use a baby carrier instead. If payment is a hardship, please call and ask our Program Director for options.

All of the classes described below can be taught privately one-on-one or for a small group by one of our IBCLCs or instructors.

Classes for Babies 0-4 Months

Breast Pump Basics

Join us the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 11:30am-12:30pm for our Breast Pump Basics Class!

Class will go over breast pump information, as well as breast pump demonstrations. Mothers will also receive instruction on pumping strategies. In addition, pump demonstrations will be shown and mothers will also receive instruction on pumping strategies for the early weeks. This class lays the foundation for our Return to Work class (recommended to take a few weeks before returning to work). Think of this as Part II of our must-take prenatal classes. It is also very helpful to take again before returning to work, as a refresher. This class is intended to be taken after our Breastfeeding Basics Class. The instructor is one of our experienced IBCLCs.

Pumping Strategies and Return to Work

Join us the 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 12:45-2:00pm for our Return to Work Class!

Mothers will discuss how to continue their breastfeeding relationship while working, as well as ways to maintain breastfeeding after you return to work. Advice will be given for breast milk collection, storage and feeding guidelines. The instructor is one of our experienced IBCLCs.

Breastfeeding Baby 0-4 Months

Join us every Tuesday from 11:30am-1:00pm or from 1:30-3:00pm for our “New Moms’ Group!”

This class includes discussion of all things related to breastfeeding, and is guided by the mothers who attend. It is a great way to meet other mothers and get helpful advice. Mothers are also able to do weight checks on their little ones. This class is intended for parents of babies under the age of 4 months. This is a support group style class where discussion and questions are invited. The instructor is one of our experienced IBCLCs.

The cost is a one-time registration fee of $25 for unlimited classes (if you’re able to pay!); please register in advance as these classes can fill up quickly!

Return to Work Support Group

Join us the 4th Thursday of every month from 6-7:30pm for our Return to Work Support Group!

In this group, we will discuss common issues that arise with breastfeeding and pumping after returning to work and will tailor the group to the attendees’ needs and questions. As always, babies of all ages are welcome! Class is taught by an RN lactation consultant who breastfed and pumped for all of her children, all while working those crazy nursing shifts.

Cloth Diapering Basics

Cloth diapering couldn’t be easier these days. No more pins, plastic pants or toilet dunking. Just easy to use, easy to wash, cute reusable diapers. The only hard part is navigating the different brands, styles and reviews to choose which style is best for you and your baby! Attend this fun and interactive class with cloth diapering expert, Hannah. In this class you will:

  • Learn how using cloth diapers can benefit your baby and your planet at the same time
  • Look, touch, and try out all of the most common brands and styles
  • Get expert help in deciding which style of diaper is best for you
  • Compare the cost of cloth versus disposable diapers
  • Discuss the common questions and concerns with each style of cloth diaper

With the help of our cloth diaper expert, Hannah, you’ll explore bamboo and hemp as solutions to heavy wetting, receive suggestions for potty training a cloth diapered child, learn how to “strip” your cloth diapers, as well as other troubleshooting tips. Babywearing Workshop

Join us every other Friday of every month for our Babywearing Workshop!

What are the benefits of babywearing? What options are there? What’s best for me and my baby? Learn the basics of babywearing in our Babywearing Workshop! This class is geared toward people who have an interest in babywearing and want to know more about the advantages of babywearing, safety, and the how-tos of babywearing.

In this hands-on class, you will be able to try on a multitude of different carriers, wraps, and slings to see which one makes the most sense for your family. Class also demonstrates how to safely and properly use slings or carriers. Breastfeeding while wearing the sling or carrier is also covered.

Infant Massage

Join us on Thursdays of every month from 10:00-11:15am or 11:30am-12:45pm for our Infant Massage Series!

In this hands-on class, parents will learn how to massage their babies to increase bonding, better sleep and help decrease colic and general discomfort due to gassiness. Each week of the series will focus on different strokes and parts of the body and handouts will be provided so you can practice at home too. Benefits of Infant Massage (for babies 8 weeks to pre-crawling)

  • Help your baby sleep deeper, longer
  • Reduce or avoid fussy time
  • Relieve colic, gas, and constipation
  • Ease the stress of the day
  • Learn to read baby’s cues

Mom and Baby Yoga

Join us every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30pm for Mom and Baby Yoga!

Our Postnatal Yoga class focuses on the strengthening care of Mommy, while including baby. Postnatal Yoga is a healthy and natural way to heal the body after delivery and relieve stress and tension that comes with being a new mom. Through breathing techniques and movement, our postnatal class incorporates calming and relaxing ways to bond with your baby and reconnect to self.

Our class fosters an openly supportive space for other moms to connect and bond as well as forge new friendships with other moms. The class will provide rejuvenating and energizing asanas (postures) to help rebuild the key muscle and body groups that were affected by a pregnancy. Open to all moms and babies six weeks to crawling.

Payment is required in advance for class registration; cost is $54 for a 3-class series, or $20 for drop-ins.

 Infant and Child CPR 

Join us on the 1st Saturday of the month from 1:30-3:30pm and the 3rd Saturday of each month from 12:30-2:30pm or 3:00-5:00pm for Infant and Child CPR!

It takes two hours of your time to learn skills that could save your child’s life. During this class you will learn infant and child CPR, AED, and what to do if your child is choking. These are skills anyone caring for an infant or child should have to ensure their safety. This is the perfect class for parents and expectant parents. It’s also a great class for your nanny, babysitter, or family member who might be caring for your child if you are returning to work.

This class is for adults only. The cost is $65 per person.

Snap Happy: Photo 101

Do you want to take better pictures of your own family? Have you ever wondered what the secrets are to capturing “the” moment? Then this Snap Happy: Photography 101 is just the class for you! Julie Kubal, a professional photographer who specializes in working with babies, children, and families, will share with you some simple strategies to get you happy with your snapshots (hint: understanding lighting is KEY!). We will touch on the following topics:

  • organizing and preserving your memories
  • discovering the Five Steps to getting Snap Happy
  • learning to find and utilize natural lighting
  • composing an amazing shot

All you will need is a camera (a DSLR is NOT required) and desire to create beautiful family memories! The class is designed to help amateur photographers get better snapshots shots to tell their life’s story. You will walk away knowing how to like what you see on the back of the camera a whole lot more!
