Here at the Breastfeeding Center we are highly committed to providing thorough and continued support throughout your breastfeeding years. We all know that breastfeeding is a journey with twists and turns, and we’re here for you every step of the way. And while breastfeeding is natural, sometimes professional help from one of our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) is advised. We offer our support through classes, peer support groups, phone and Skype consultations, office visits (yours or ours!), and home visits.
Lactation consultation fees may be reimbursed by your insurance company! Click here for details.
Our prenatal consultations are especially helpful for first time expectant parents, or expectant parents with special concerns. It is a wonderful opportunity to discuss and prepare for any expected or potential breastfeeding issues and learn how to optimize breastfeeding in the first weeks after birth. The consultation will be with a Board Certified Lactation Consultant and will include a breast assessment. Prenatal consultations are available in our office or at home (especially for mothers on bed rest) and are usually 30-45 minutes. Call 202-293-5182 to schedule.
Our lactation consultations are great for both new and experienced parents with newborns or older babies. The consultation includes a pre- and post-feeding weight check of the baby, observation of a breastfeeding session, examination of the mother’s breast, and examination of the baby’s mouth. Our experienced IBCLCs can help with any number of breastfeeding issues, including latch, positioning, milk supply, pumping, and much, much more. Our goal is to help you reach your breastfeeding goals! Lactation consultations are available in our office or at home and usually last for 1 to 1.5 hours. Call 202-293-5182 to schedule.
Often our consultants might suggest that a client be seen for a follow-up consultation. Parents find these to be very helpful because it is a chance to discuss any new developments and make any breastfeeding modifications under the care of an IBCLC. Follow-up consultations can be in our office or at home and are typically one hour. Call 202-293-5182 to schedule.
Phone follow-up is included within one month of your consultation. For remote follow-up after one month, a Skype consultation can be scheduled. Skype consultations typically last about 30-60 minutes and are for follow-up clients only. Call 202-293-5182 to schedule.
Our IBCLCs can speak to your group or organization! Our workshops can be tailored for employers to learn how they can make the workplace breastfeeding friendly, for employees if there is a group of mothers in the office, or for daycare centers to help staff work with breastfeeding mothers and their babies. These workshops can take place on-site or in our classroom, ranging from 1-3 hours. Call 202-293-5182 to schedule.

Dr. Morici’s sessions combine infant massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, oral motor exercises, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education with therapeutic exercises and activities. Each babies’ treatment plan is tailored to their specific needs in order to maximize outcomes. Alternative positioning techniques are also utilized to optimize comfort and success.
We offer consultations with a Certified Infant Sleep Educator. Our Certified Infant Sleep Educator uses a developmental approach to educate parents on normal, healthy, and optimal infant/toddler sleep. Additionally, consults address sleep in the context of your family including values, wellness, and daily patterns so that we can collaboratively find solutions that allow you to meet your own needs as well as your babies. While these consults cannot promise you a full night of unbroken sleep, we can promise that you will understand your baby’s nighttime needs and have the tools to cope with nighttime parenting without sacrificing your own needs. Sleep consultations include a client history form, 1.5 hour consult (in person or Skype), a custom sleep strategy package, one 20 minute follow up phone call, and 4 weeks email support. Our mission is to help all mothers reach their breastfeeding goals! If you do not have insurance or are unable to pay out of pocket, please see our Outreach page for more information on WIC Consultations and Sliding Scale Consultation Fees.
