Our prenatal consultations are especially helpful for first time expectant mothers, or expectant mothers with special concerns. It is a wonderful opportunity to discuss and prepare for any expected or potential breastfeeding issues and learn how to optimize breastfeeding in the first weeks after birth. The consultation will be with an IBCLC and will include a breast assessment. Prenatal consultations are available in our office or at home (especially for mothers on bed rest) and are usually 30-45 minutes. Call to schedule.
Our lactation consultations are great for both new and experienced mothers with newborns or older babies. The consultation includes a pre and post feeding weight check of the baby, observation of a breastfeeding session, examination of the mother’s breast, and examination of the baby’s mouth. Our experienced IBCLCs can help with any number of breastfeeding issues, including latch, positioning, milk supply, pumping, and much, much more. Our goal is to help you reach your breastfeeding goals! Lactation consultations are available in our office or at home and usually last an hour to an hour and a half. Call to schedule.
Often our consultants might suggest that a mother be seen in for a follow-up consultation. Mothers find these to be very helpful because it is a chance to discuss any new developments and make any breastfeeding modifications under the care of an IBCLC. Follow-up consultations can be in our office or at home and are typically an hour long. Call to schedule.
Our phone consultations are intended for mothers with minor concerns who do not need to be seen in person. Our consultants can help with questions about medications, supply, weaning and other breastfeeding issues. Phone consultations typically last about 20 minutes. Call to schedule.
*Phone consultations for mothers who have already been seen in our office or at home by one of our consultants are complementary.
Our IBCLCs can speak to your group! Our workshops can be for employers to learn how they can make the workplace breastfeeding friendly, for employees if there is a group of mothers in the office, or for daycare centers to help staff work with breastfeeding mothers and their babies. These workshops can take place on-site or in our classroom. They can range anywhere from 1-3 hours. Call to schedule.
Our goal is to help mothers reach their breastfeeding goals! If you do not have insurance and/or unable to pay out of pocket, please see our Outreach page for more information on WIC Consultations and Sliding Scale Consultations.
