Yoga Therapy for the Postpartum Pelvic Floor Series
Location: Breastfeeding Center for Greater Washington
1020 19th St NW #150
Washington, DC 20036
Class Time: 11:30am - 12:45pm
Class Description: This four-week series is a crucial piece of holistic postpartum care centered around re-embodiment and re-connection to the pelvic floor through yoga. Participants will cultivate deeper awareness of their bodies, specifically their pelvic floor muscles through understanding their postural and breathing patterns, cultivating connection to their pelvis in movement, and utilizing breath and yoga postures to both strengthen muscles and release tension. Each class includes an educational component, movement, breathwork, and a home practice to do between classes.
The first class will include some time to complete a short intake questionnaire so that the instructor knows a bit more about each participant's health history and can make sure to meet everyone's needs throughout the series. All collected health information is in compliance with HIPAA.
This class is intended for postpartum clients only. Participants are asked to have been cleared for movement by their doctor or midwife prior to attending the series. Participants are invited to bring their babies to this class.
**Only sign up for the first class in the series**
